Club History
Cambourne Wednesday FC was formed
in the summer of 2003.
The 2003/04 season saw us enter
the Essex Sunday Corinthian League Division 2 and we took to the
challenge like a duck to water, floating around at the top with
a few flappy moments.
Some poor displays in our opening games proved to be our undoing
but we still managed a very respectable 2nd place, just three points
off the top spot.
We also reached the divisional cup final, only to once more be pipped
to the trophy.
Having achieved our main target
of promotion, the 2004/05 season saw us take a step up the ladder
to Division 1.
This, however, proved to be more of a stumble up the ladder though
and some below-par performances scuppered our chances of league
success.
But this cloud still had it's silver lining, our final position
of 3rd was enough to win our second successive promotion.
The divisional cup again saw us reach the final, with us this time
walking away with the cup, the club's first piece of silverware!
We are now in our 3rd season, looking forward
to life in the lofty heights of the Essex Sunday Corinthian Premier
Division, and hungry for more trophies.
Goals count!!
